Courtesy Seat Requests
What is a courtesy seat? Where bus routes have been established and there is available space on a bus, students who are not eligible for transportation, may apply for permission to ride the bus. Please note that families who have been granted a courtesy seat are required to complete a Courtesy Seat request form annually - it does not roll over to the next year.

The Courtesy Seat Application Form is open annually from April 15 until June 30 for the upcoming school year. Halton Student Transportation Services (HSTS) will complete the courtesy seat application review and allocation process over the summer in order to allow courtesy riders to begin riding the bus on the first day of school in September. Upon completion of the review, parents or guardians who have submitted an application will be notified by HSTS by the third week in August.

Student Transportation Opt Out Form
This form is intended to notify Halton Student Transportation Services (HSTS) that your child, although eligible for transportation, should not be assigned a seat on a school bus. *Important: When completing this form mid-year, you must also notify the school directly to ensure they are aware of your child’s after school arrangement.

Out in Our Community
Please remind your students to be respectful when out in the community before school, after school and during the lunch break. Our neighbours have let us know that they are frustrated by Nelson students littering and putting garbage on their lawns. Some of our neighbours have heard offensive language used, which can be quite scary. Additionally, we have seen and heard unsafe driving on the city streets. Please know that students who are behaving as described above will have school-based consequences commensurate with their behaviour.
