About Montclair Public School
Montclair Public School is a vibrant, inclusive learning community serving students from Kindergarten to Grade 8. Led by Principal Andrea Gill and Vice Principal Nicole Jones, the school administration, educators, and staff are collectively committed to creating a safe, welcoming, and inspiring environment where every student feels valued and supported.
Our Philosophy: Stronger Together
At Montclair Public School, a great education begins with a deep sense of belonging and a culture of kindness that is intentionally nurtured every single day. The school’s foundational focus, Stronger Together, is driven by collective commitments co-created through the woven voices of students, staff, and families.
Grounded in the belief that a community is strongest when connected, like threads in a shared rope, Montclair utilizes the infinity symbol as a guiding emblem. It serves as a reminder that the community is continuously growing and changing, yet always linked in mutual support of student learning and well-being.
These shared "threads" guide authentic action across the school by:
-
Shaping collaborative planning and classroom instruction.
-
Inspiring student leadership, advocacy, and creativity.
-
Nurturing meaningful, trusting connections.
-
Ensuring everyone feels safe, valued, and empowered to thrive.
Inclusive & Empowering Academics
Montclair is proud to be a truly inclusive learning community that celebrates diversity as a strength. Dedicated educators work collaboratively, sharing their expertise and passion to design meaningful learning experiences that challenge and support every child. Instruction is designed to empower and affirm each student’s unique identity, lived experiences, and ideas, ensuring all learners have ongoing opportunities to grow, solve problems, and succeed.
A Foundation of Well-Being
Student success at Montclair is built upon a strong foundation of holistic well-being. Recognizing that care extends beyond the classroom, and with the generous support of the Halton Learning Foundation alongside local volunteers and community partners, the school proudly hosts a Breakfast Program five days a week. This initiative ensures that students begin each day nourished, cared for, and ready to learn.
Vibrant Student Life
Beyond the classroom, Montclair offers an active and engaging school culture. Students are encouraged to explore their personal interests, express their creativity, and develop vital civic skills through a variety of extracurricular opportunities, including:
-
Competitive sports teams
-
Diverse student-led clubs
-
A prestigious Eco-School program
Whether supporting environmental initiatives, shaping school spaces, or cheering on their peers, Montclair students actively learn what it means to be proud, empathetic, and responsible global citizens.
Community Partnerships
Montclair Public School operates on the principle that education is strongest when schools, families, and caregivers work in tandem. The school deeply values its partnerships with the local community. Through safe, trusting connections and collaborative contributions, Montclair continues to build a positive, affirming environment where every child can flourish academically, socially, and emotionally.
