Clubs and Councils at Garth Webb Secondary School

At Garth Webb Secondary School, we’re proud to offer a wide variety of clubs and councils that allow students to explore their interests, develop leadership skills, and connect with peers who share their passions. From arts and athletics to technology, cultural groups, and wellness initiatives, there’s something for everyone!

This year, we’re excited to introduce a new feature in our newsletter: each week, we will highlight a different club or council so that our families can learn more about the amazing opportunities happening here at GWSS. You’ll get an inside look at what students are doing, how they’re contributing to our school community, and the ways they are developing new skills and friendships.

This week’s highlight: Friday Choir and Chargers Chorus

Students looking to develop their singing talents at Garth Webb have not only vocal music class, but two co-curricular choirs they can join:

Friday Choir is open to all grades and experience levels. They sing mostly popular music, learning their harmonies by ear, in a fun low-pressure environment. They are often accompanied in performances by one of Garth Webb’s fantastic rock bands. There are no auditions - everyone is welcome to join!

Chargers Chorus is our smaller, auditioned choir that learns more complex and challenging repertoire than our open choir. It offers motivated singers an excellent opportunity to take their musicianship to the next level.
