About Us
Sheridan Public School is a public elementary school in northeast Oakville with classes from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 5. It opened in September 1979 and currently serves approximately 220 students with instruction for all subjects in English. Core French instruction begins in Grade 1. The school offers an extended day program in partnership with the YMCA and follows a balanced-day nutrition schedule. It is part of the Halton District School Board.

This is supported by an inclusive culture, a safe and welcoming environment, and the prevalent spirit of 'Sheridan Sharks Care,' where students are kind, thoughtful, and look out for one another.

- Parent Involvement: There is strong support and commitment from the parent community and an enthusiastic parent council, which partners with the school for the success of all students and helps host many fun and engaging activities and events (e.g., Winter Olympics, Play Day, dance-a-thons).
- Learning Environment: Sheridan is viewed as a great place to learn and grow, featuring high expectations for all learners, unique leadership opportunities for students in the K-5 setting, and many cross-grade activities and extracurriculars. The school also has a beautiful outside play area that allows for ample outdoor learning opportunities.
