Rent School Space

The Halton District School Board offers school space rentals as part of our commitment to community partnerships. Beyond the instructional day, our gyms, classrooms and meeting spaces are available to support programs, events, and activities that bring people together and strengthen community connections.

How to Rent a Facility

Community Use of Schools is a Ministry of Education program that allows non-profit groups to rent school spaces outside school hours, with rentals coordinated between the HDSB Rental Office and local municipalities, and priority rules in place to ensure fair access. If you are interested in renting one of our schools, please begin by contacting your local municipality. If you do not qualify to rent a school through your local municipality, please follow the steps below.

The Halton District School Board offers a user-friendly online reservation process, with access to a listing of available facilities:

  1. Create an account: Using our Community Use portal, create an account or if you're an existing user, login using your previously created account.

  2. Choose a facility: Use the Find Your Local School tool to find HDSB schools near you and choose a facility that will suit your group's needs. The online reservation system provides access to HDSB school facilities across the Region of Halton such as gymnasiums and cafeterias.

  3. Await Approval: Once the Rentals Office has reviewed your application and it has been approved, a permit will be issued electronically to the email attached to your account.

  • Monday to Friday from 6 - 10 p.m.

  • Saturdays from 8 a.m. - 10 p.m.
