November 27, 2025

Dear MMR families,

Please see the below important messages and reminders.

PD Day - Friday November 28, 2025

School is closed to students tomorrow.

Course Selection for the 2026 - 2027 School Year

Over the next few weeks guidance counsellors will be running Course Selection Assemblies with each grade to discuss the process, timelines and grade specific information.  Additionally, there will be the following events to prepare students and families for the Course Selection Process:

  • December 3rd - Current Grades 10 & 11 Pathways Assembly to highlight each of the different Regional Programs available at MMR

  • December 16th - Course Selection Assemblies by grade to learn about all of the great courses and programs here at MMR

  • January 8, 2026 6:30-8:00pm - Gr 8-12 Course Selection Information & OYAP-FAST Information Evening for students and families to make best informed decisions

Coats for Kids Scholarship Program

The MMR Community is partnering with Donnell Insurance to once again collect donations of gently used coats and jackets.  The items collected will be donated to the Salvation Army and Compassion Society to be shared amongst the Burlington community.  Please bring in clean, gently used items that are in good condition to the Student Services Office by Friday December 5, 2025.

Graduation Photos - Deadline Approaching

Students are reminded to sign-up for their graduation photos.  At the current moment, the photographers are at MMR only until Friday December 5th, however, this is dependent upon bookings. Pegasus will continue taking pictures at MMR as long as students continue booking. Please note: If students miss booking their photograph on the website, they will then be responsible for booking an appointment directly with Pegasus at their Stoney Creek location.  Students can follow these online booking instructions.

Yearbook Sales CLOSES-  Friday December 19, 2025

The MMR 2025-2026 school yearbook is being sold through School Cash Online until December 19,  2025. There is no extension to this deadline. The cost is $40. The MMR yearbook is student-driven. Our students make every effort to ensure its accuracy, and to include everyone in our MMR community.  In the event of any omission or error, we appreciate your understanding and will refund the $40 upon return of the yearbook to our Business Manager in the main office. We also want to highlight that the yearbook will include the student’s last name, and first initial.  Should you have a preferred/different first initial for the yearbook, please send your request via email to leea@hdsb.ca by Friday December 19, 2025. As well, please know that the Pegasus photo taken in the fall will be the photo included in the yearbook. Should you not want this photo included in the yearbook, you must send your request via email to oconnors@hdsb.ca by Friday December 19, 2025. Student photos will not be included in the yearbook if parents have indicated as such in the registration forms submitted to the school in September. The yearbook is produced according to timelines driven by the publisher, and to ensure our final product is available at the end of June. We appreciate you meeting these timelines before the yearbook is sent to print.

Winter Break - Saturday December 20, 2025 to Sunday January 4, 2026

The school will be closed during this time. Students are reminded to take home all personal belongings, and not leave perishable items in their locker.

Protected Learning Time - Monday January 5, 2026 to Thursday January 29, 2026

We want to remind all families that the HDSB has designated the last 4 weeks of the semester as protected learning time. This is a time when students complete their final evaluations for their courses. To maximize success and achievement, it is critical for students to be in full attendance at school during this time. We ask that parents reinforce this with their student(s). Families looking for a planned extended absence for their child during this period, must follow the attached process that can be found in our Absence Reporting page on our school website.

HDSB Multi-Year Plan

The HDSB has a Multi-Year Strategic Plan (MYSP) that guides our work to support students’ academic success, well-being and growth. Shaped by the collaborative efforts and voices of our community, each of the six commitments within this plan works in tandem to create supportive and effective learning environments.  Learn more: here.

Bullying Response Protocol

M.M. Robinson High School, along with all schools in the HDSB, is committed to taking immediate and proactive action to prevent and address all incidents of bullying to create safe, inclusive and welcoming environments for all students. Our Bullying Response Protocol guides us to address every incident of bullying quickly and with care. Through our online reporting tool, students and families can confidentially report bullying.
