Who is Dr. Charles Best?

Dr. Charles Best was a Canadian medical scientist who helped discover insulin, a life-saving treatment for people with diabetes. He worked with Dr. Frederick Banting and other scientists in the early 1920s to develop insulin, which has helped millions of people around the world live longer, healthier lives. Dr. Best was born in the United States but grew up and studied in Canada. His important work showed how science, teamwork, and determination can make a difference in people's lives. Dr. Charles Best Elementary School is named in his honour to recognize his contributions to medicine and to inspire students to be curious, work hard, and help others.
