Aldershot Art Show
You are invited to Aldershot’s Senior Art Exhibition “Mixed Media”, taking place from 6-7:30 pm on Thursday, Jan 15th. Come and support all the artists here at Aldershot. Not only will you see a wide range of artworks by students from all grades, but there will also be food, music, and art-making as well–Lots of fun. All are welcome so bring everyone. No RSVP necessary. See you there!
Grade 8 Grad Photo Day - Monday, January 19th
It is always best when students come prepared, and we encourage them to wear a collared shirt and, if they choose, a tie. While we will have gowns available, as well as a limited number of extra shirts and ties, having students arrive prepared helps the day run smoothly. Link to details
ISTEM Report Cards
Many of our I-STEM courses are delivered as full-year (desemestered) courses, specifically all Grade 9 I-STEM courses and the Grade 10 I-STEM Math and Science courses. Students enrolled in these classes will NOT receive a January report card for these subjects. Please see the reporting timelines for ISTEM in the letter sent home this week HERE.
Student Immunization
If immunizations are needed, we encourage you to contact your health care provider to have them completed. If you don’t currently have a provider, you can visit halton.ca for a list of physicians who are accepting new patients.
SEMESTER 1 FINAL EVALUATION BLOCK (Secondary Only)
Final evaluations (exams and final “practical” sessions) for Semester 1 courses take place at school between Thursday, January 22nd and Wednesday, January 28th, 2026. The detailed schedule is HERE. Students and families are asked to ensure that vacations and student employment schedules do not interfere with the final evaluation period. Please also see the family letter sent out before the winter break, which includes all final evaluation information for January, HERE.
Ski Trip to Blue Mountain (9-12) - February 10th
Aldershot will again be offering a ski/snowboard trip to Blue Mountain this year. The trip is scheduled for Tuesday, February 10th, 2026. Interested families of secondary students are invited to complete the school permission form, the Blue Mountain online waiver and provide payment to our school cash online site. There are limited spots, they will fill quickly. Please see link for details and permission form.
Out of Area Transfer Requests (2026-2027) - Elementary Schools
Students looking to attend a school other than their home school can do so by completing an Out of Area Transfer Request Application. Applications are being accepted from Jan. 5 - Feb. 27, 2026 and can be submitted to your home school.

Mental Health & Well-Being Information Sessions for Parents/Guardians

Vanguard Scholars, a flagship program of the BlackNorth Initiative, is a six-year academic and career development program for high-achieving Black students across Canada. The inaugural cohort begins Summer 2026.
Students selected for the program will participate in two consecutive six-week Summer Academies focused on rigorous academic enrichment and leadership development, followed by multi-year support including individualized university counselling, mentorship, career exploration, and academic guidance through to university completion.
Application Timeline: The portal is open now through January 31st, 2026.

On Wednesday, December 10th, students were presented with important information about course selection for the 2026/2027 school year. Course selection opens on December 12, 2025, allowing students to begin choosing their courses for next year. Please see the link with important information.

Camp Can Aqua - Gr. 7 & 8
The trip will take place June 17-19, 2026 (3 days, 2 nights), and will include 6 meals. To reserve a spot for your child, please submit a $100 down payment via School Cash Online by Friday, January 30, 2026. The second deposit will be due on Friday, March 27, and the final balance on Friday, April 24.
