School History

W.I. Dick Middle School is located in Milton, Ontario.  It is a long standing educational institution, with records of its existence dating back to at least the 1961-1962 school year.  At this time the school was functioning as a kindergarten and elementary school.  Situated in the older Mountain View neighbourhood near downtown Milton, the school is known for its community focused, long term presence in the area.

·       Early History: The school was established by the early 1960s, with photographic evidence showing a kindergarten class present for the 1961-1962 academic year.

·       Location and Context: It is located within the Mountain View neighbourhood, which is characterized by mature trees and proximity to the Niagara Escarpment.

·       School Culture: As part of the Halton District School Board, the school emphasizes active student involvement, featuring various clubs, teams, and leadership opportunities.

·       Community Involvement: The school has a history of community engagement, including fundraising initiatives like supporting the Free the Children organization through student-led activities.

W.I. Dick continues to serve the local Milton community, evolving from its earlier days to become a key intermediate school in the area.
