MDHS Amazing Race Event
Tomorrow, October 28th, MDHS is having its first ever Amazing Race event, in support of the Milton District Hospital Foundation. MD students from grades 9-12 have created teams, and will be participating in a friendly competition to raise school spirit and get involved for a great cause! We are really looking forward to the event, and cannot express how proud we are to have already raised over $1500 for our local hospital!
If you are interested in becoming a part of the Amazing Race mission, and supporting our community, the fundraising link is included below - any amount helps!
Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) Conference - Nov. 15
There is still time to register for the upcoming Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) Conference!
The conference will take place on Saturday, Nov. 15, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Elsie MacGill Secondary School in Milton. The theme for this year’s event is Embrace. Engage. Celebrate: Building Welcoming Communities Together.
This free event will feature informative workshops, community partners and displays and a keynote address by Pardeep Nagra, Human Rights & Equity Advisor at the HDSB.
Lunch will be provided and child minding is available at no cost for Kindergarten-age children up to 12 years of age. Morning refreshments and a light lunch are also provided. Transportation may be available for attendees who require it to travel from various areas within Halton to the conference.

Important Message for Bus Students
Calling all MDHS Bus Students! Please visit the office to pick up your bus pass. Bring your student ID in order to have your pass applied. Bus Drivers are now requesting to see the bus pass sticker when you are boarding the bus, so make sure to get your bus pass sticker ASAP for the back of your student card!
Graduation Photos
Graduation Photos will take place Monday, November 3 - Friday, November 21 in the Staff Room. Book your appointment, through Edge Imaging at bookmygrad.ca using our school code MDS. There is a sitting fee of $40 payable to Edge Imaging directly at the time of booking, which includes a composite with folder of the graduation class. In order for your photo to be included and receive the COMPOSITE photo with FOLDER at the end of the school year you must pay the sitting fee and have your picture taken. It is recommended that students wear a white collared shirt underneath the grad gown. The photographer will supply a grad gown for the photo. View the flyer here.

Homestay Hosts Needed in Halton
Each year, the HDSB’s International Student Program (ISP) welcomes students into schools, and as a result, our programs benefit, our community benefits and local students create lifelong friendships and global connections. Canada Homestay Network (CHN) is currently looking for hosts in Halton for international students joining the HDSB in 2026.
Hosting an international student is a unique and rewarding experience. You'll give a young learner a life-changing opportunity while creating lasting memories for your own family. As a host, you provide a private bedroom, three daily meals, access to WiFi and laundry and a welcoming, supportive and safe home. CHN offers full training, 24/7 support and a monthly stipend.
CHN will be hosting a virtual information sessions for families interested in learning more about becoming homestay hosts:
