We meet about 6 times per year (usually Monday evenings) for about one hour. All parents, guardians, and grandparents are welcome—no formal role required!
Every Fall, we elect voting members and fill Executive and Committee roles:
Council Voting Member - This involves a 1hr time commitment to attend meetings (we meet 6 times per year). You will help make decisions about how fundraising money is spent, help organize fundraising events, become executive members (like a chair, treasurer), act as an organizer of volunteers, act as a PIC representative, etc.
Executive Roles: There are 4 executive roles to be filled every year: Chair, Co-Chair, Treasurer and Secretary.
Committee Roles: There are various committees that you can join (even if you aren’t a voting member of council) including Fun Fair, Fundraising and Health & Safety.
You can also get involved by volunteering (even if you aren’t a voting member of council) for various school events like:
Fun Fair ‘Day Of’ Volunteers - This involves a 30 minute time commitment the evening of the Fun Fair which takes place in June. During your 30 minute time slot you will be assigned to help with various duties (i.e. ticket sales, bouncy castle supervision, food/drink sales etc.)
Pizza/Sub Lunch Volunteer - This involves a 1hr - 1.5hr time commitment once a month to help organize and distribute pizza and subs for the students during the second nutrition break.
Fundraising Volunteer - This involves a 30 minute - 1.5hr time commitment a few times a year to help with cookie, candy cane or lollipop sales as well as organization and distribution of any fundraising initiatives (i.e. Big Box of Cards), Teacher Appreciation and Grade 8 graduation.
