Human Rights & Equity Advisory Committee
The Halton District School Board Human Rights & Equity Advisory Committee (HREAC) proposes and responds to human rights and equity initiatives that support the HDSB focus on student achievement and well-being, helping to support commitments outlined in the Human Rights Equity Action & Accountability Plan: The Way Forward and 2020-2024 Multi Year Plan.
The Way Forward reflects the HDSB’s commitment to create and maintain safe, inclusive learning and working environments free from discrimination for students, families, staff and members of the public. It provides specific actions to which the Board will be held accountable by students, staff, families and the community.
The HDSB Human Rights Equity Action and Accountability Plan: The Way Forward requires ongoing action on the part of all individuals and departments within the Board. The plan identifies strategies and actions to ensure all students, staff and families are supported in schools and workplaces by creating and maintaining equitable and inclusive learning and working environments.
